Planning to revive my old pet-project, Mars 2400. I started the project way back in 2005, had a few breaks and last updates in 2010, so almost 5 years ago.
Now back to business.
So, Mars 2400 is "old-skool" space trading / combat / exploration game. Here is some of the description from the "readme.txt" as a taste, I''ll post some in-game screenshots later on.
HOW TO PLAY:
-----------------
Player starts with ship docked in mars station with 3000 credits and poorly equipped Ranger-class ship.
Docking:
In order to dock to a station, you must first request a docking clearance. This is done via ship computer display.
Message will appear indicating docking bay number you must proceed. You just steer and stop your ship over the
docking bay in question and ship will dock automatically. Docking fee is then charged from your account.
Scanner display:
Harmless ships are displayed with green box
Neutral ships(i.e. ships that have weapons) are displayed with yellow box
Pirate ships are displayed with red box
Police ships are displayed with blue box
Meteor Mining:
First buy an ore scoop. Then find a meteor from solar system and simply fly your ship above it. Mining then
starts automatically.
Rules of engagement:
If you kill pirates, you'll automatically get the credits theyre possessing without concequencies.
If you kill other ships, you will receive their credits, but you are now classified as a pirate and
are free prey for anyone. So you don't want to travel to stations with heavy police forces then...
may be you have to find a pirate station and gang up with other pirates...
Game saving / loading (alpha 2 version)
Game is saved automatically when current game is exited (ESC). It can be continued in main menu when selecting
"continue current game"
